This artwork is part of the Tissue portrait series and is a limited edition of one.
The Tissue series explores themes of vulnerability and the unseen layers that make up our identities. This particular piece was created during a research project centred on the idea that we can never fully know what others are experiencing, where they come from, or who they truly are beneath the surface. I reflected on the notion that we are all, in some way, searching for our own truths.
I titled the work Encircled to suggest a sense of being gently held or enveloped with care. Both the materials and the concept are soft and delicate, making this a subtle yet meaningful piece
