ABOUT
Samantha Wilson (b. 1990) is a Glasgow-based artist working across figurative drawing and painting.
Born on the east coast of Scotland, Wilson spent many years living between Portugal and Asia before returning to the UK in 2022. A longstanding fascination with people and the human experience led to the gradual collection of photographic material that continues to inform her work.
Through drawings made with ink, charcoal, liquid watercolour and powdered pigments, alongside more recent returns to oil painting, Wilson reimagines the body through layered processes of observation, fragmentation and reconstruction.
